The Civil Engineering programme is designed to educate technical professionals who have a solid foundation, all-round professional knowledge and a good command of design, construction and management of building engineering. Special emphasis is put on innovation, project management, team work and practical capabilities in addition to training of foundation knowledge. The Civil Engineering programme provides graduates with a strong foundation for a career in engineering, together with plan, design, research, construction, and management skills which may be applied in a wide variety of industries. Graduates can be senior engineers to engage in planning, design, construction, management and development of technology and scientific research in the field of building, underground building, road, bridge building and ground treatment. The Faculty organizes international cooperative intercourse regularity, and has already established symbiosis with more than 10 countries including University of Edinburghand University of Western Australia. 26 well-known overseas literates are retained to be visiting professors of the Faculty, and each year 4 international learning conference would be hold, in each of which more than 500 overseas literates would got reception. Also, the Faculty sends more than 100 teachers abroad for visiting, reviewing, researching and attending learning conferences.
