INTRODUCTION In response to the rapid economic development in recent years, China is committed not only to solve the ecological and environmental problems that have occurred, but also, through ecological planning and management measures, to avoid the ecological environmental risks that may occur. In pursuit of a balance among ecological environmental protection, economic development, and social harmony, China has accumulated extensive experience in environmental protection that could be applied to other developing countries, and it has developed a series of key technologies of ecological restoration and pollution control that are at the international forefront as well. Ecological environmental protection and management, which have become increasingly important for prospective development professionals to study, are of great significance in promoting global sustainable development. The international master program in Ecological Environment Protection and Management offered by the School of Environment, Beijing Normal University, is designed for outstanding students in environmental science and related disciplines. It aims to develop students’ abilities to analyze and explore existing and developing issues in ecological and environmental studies provided with high quality curriculum system and opportunities for research practice and field study by support of school. This program aims to provide students with theoretical and systematic specialized knowledge as well as practical skills in the field of environmental science. In addition, a key goal of the program is to inspiring students to apply professional theory and technology to solve the practical environmental problems of China and other developing countries by contextualizing and analyzing practical cases of ecological environmental protection and development status. Additionally, School of Environment also provides Ph.D. program for international students. |
