This four-year program aims to produce well-grounded graduates not only proficient in English but also competent in intercultural communication. Whereas the teaching of English skills is the focus, the cultivation of critical thinking and creative ability integrates into the entire pedagogical process. At the undergraduate level, students who major in English and Intercultural Studies will:
have a good command of English, and a survival and a success kit in the age of globalization;
develop intercultural competence so that they can communicate effectively across cultural boundaries;
be equipped with interdisciplinary knowledge so that they can cope with a constantly changing job market;
cultivate critical thinking, learning ability, team spirit and leadership so that they can always rise above new challenges in their future and career.
Undergraduates have proved to be competitive and have enormous potientialities in careers that range from foreign affairs, international trade, cultural exchange and international communication of teaching English. They are also qualified for furthur studies in all relevant fields of humanities and social sciences.
