Education Objectives The main education objectives of the major Chemical Engineering and Technology are to cultivate qualified personnel with advanced technology and engineering knowledge of chemistry to meet the requirement of modern chemical industry. In addition, they’ll have great improvement of all-round morality, intellectuality and physical fitness for their future professional development. They’ll receive engineering training on production of chemicals, materials, fuels, and pollution control, hence be able to contribute to chemical factories with design, construction, operation and management, and be capable of technology development and application research, etc. Main Courses Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical transfer and unit operation, Chemical Separate Engineering, Polymer Chemistry and Physics, Functional Polymer Materials, Principles of Electrochemistry, Electrochemical measurement.
Advantages of school The school has a strong staff team including 26 professors and 20 associate professors. Until now,more than 4200 students have been cultivated with many of them now holding leadership and senior management positions. The school recruits about 60 doctoral candidates, 80 graduate students and 100 undergraduate students per year.
Research Researches in SCET engage to bridge the gap between laboratory一scale studies and the large-scale industrial productions. They span a variety of areas, for example, functional nano-materials for advanced fuel cell system, electroplating, super-capacitor, molecular electrochemistry, high performance polymer composites, optical materials, fine ceramics, catalysis and surface, bio-inspired nano-materials, organic luminescence materials, organ-inorganic hybrids, coordination compounds, computational and solution chemistry. SCET is well equipped with facilities for spectroscopy analysis, surface and interface analysis, electrochemical measurement, and more.
Degree Awarded Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Career Chemical engineers can specialize in production of chemicals, materials, fuels, and pollution control. They can move into other areas such as entrepreneurship and consulting. Another developing opportunity is in sales engineering. This involves the service and testing for various types of equipment in the industry.
