About DHU

Donghua University (DHU) is one of the National Key Universities directly under the Ministry of Education (MoE) of China and enlisted in China's Project 211 (the top 100 universities selected by the MoE in 1995 as national priority universities for the 21st century) and “Double First-Class University Plan” (most recently announced by the Chinese Government in October 2017, to develop a group of elite Chinese universities and individual university departments to world standard
disciplinary, high-level institution with a focus on textile, material, as well as design. DHU is surging towards the goal of building “a high-level research university with domestic first-class, international influence and characteristics.” Located in Shanghai, DHU has three campuses: Sonqjiang Campus, Yan'an Road Campus and Xinhua Road Campus, covering an area of nearly 2,000 mu (approximately l,333,333 m²) with an overall floorage of over 830,000 m². Qualification

1.Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health, abide by the laws and regulations of China.
2.Applicant should hold a bachelor degree, no more than age of 40.
3.English-taught programs applicants need to submit English proficiency certificate like TOEFL or IELTS or the certificate of English instruction language (English native speakers are exempted).

Application Materials

1.Scan of original highest education diploma or original notarized diploma in English or Chinese. Scan of pre-graduation certificate is required if the applicants have not gained certificate.
2.Scan of notarized copy of transcripts in English or Chinese. 
3.Photocopy of applicant’s passport within the validity period. 
4.English language proficiency, IELTS 6.0 and above or TOEFL 80 and above. If bachelor program courses are taught in English, please submit the official letter.
5.Curriculum vitae.
6.Research proposal. 
7.Two recommendation letters from professor or associate professor related to the applied major, or equivalent professionals with relevant academic title. It needs to include their names, signatures and contact details (especially email address).
8.Supervision confirmation letter.
9.Certificate of no criminal conviction.
10.Statement of financial support.
11.Other supporting documents required by the DHU.
