This major aims at developing senior engineering and technical talents who  have basic knowledge and applied ability in the field of mechanical engineering, and are qualified for the design, manufacturing, testing, maintenance and management of engineering machinery so as to meet the need of social development.

Compulsory courses: theoretical mechanics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer theory, mechanical principle, mechanical design, fundamentals of machinery manufacturing technology, fluid mechanics and hydraulic transmission, structural mechanics, steel structure, engineering machinery chassis design, principles of internal-combustion engine, engineering crane, elevator structure and operating principle, engineering mechanical hydraulic system, measuring and testing technology, electrical machinery and towage, electromechanical integration technology, elevator control technology, etc.

After graduation, the students may work at production enterprises, professional design departments, scientific research institutions, administrative function departments, colleges and universities, engaged in design and manufacturing, scientific and technological development, operation management, marketing and related scientific research and teaching in the field of engineering machinery.
