Established in 1951, Yunnan Minzu University (YMU) is one of the earliest ethnic higher learning institutions in the People's Republic of China, and it is a provincial key university co-built by the Ministry of Education, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. After having grown for over 70 years, it has become a comprehensive university with full range of disciplines and distinctive features, including 10 discipline categories namely philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, management, art, and has formed the pattern that equally stresses arts and sciences. Now YMU has more than 30,000 full-time students, of which over 60% are ethnic minorities, besides there are over 600 students from more than 20 countries, and over 1,800 faculty members.

1.Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China.
2.Applicants must be hold a Bachelor's degree or of equivalent level with similar majors with age 18-35 years old.

3.Applicants for English medium programs shall have the ability to accomplish all the Master's degree courses, professional studies and theses in English. English proficiency certificates include: IELTS 5.5 or above; Or TOEFL 70 points or above; Or English medium instruction certificate of Bachelor study.

4.Applicants for master's degree of pharmacy: a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or biology or chemistry required.
