About SJZU

Shenyang Jianzhu University (the original Shenyang Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute), established in 1948, is the only comprehensive university with its priority given to Civil Engineering and Architecture as well as multi-disciplinary education overlapping among engineering science, industry, literature, administration, nature science, agronomy and law in Liaoning Province.

With the total area of 1,038,960 square meters and total building area of 590,000 square meters, the new campus is located in “college town” of Hunnan New District in Shenyang. The planning of the campus is full of people-oriented concepts and ideas of harmonious coexistence between nature and human being. A 756.31-meter corridor, which is the longest one in the Asia, connecting teaching area, lab area, living area and administrative area together. With reasonable campus planning, modern simple concise building form and functional facilities, Shenyang Jianzhu University is awarded “China Model Habit Environment of 2008”.

 

The university has 15 subordinate schools and 1560 faculty members are working at SJZU currently, including more than 102 professors and 210 associate professors and 14 subject experts. Current enrollment consists of nearly 18,000 degree candidates, including 11,634 undergraduates, 1600 graduates as well as doctorate students and students enrolled in adult and professional schools. Since 1956, SJZU has been enrolling foreign students. And every year there are over 200 foreign students, mainly from Korea，Russia，America, Germany，Britain, Finland, Austria, Cameroon, Vietnam，Philippines and Japan, studying in SJZU. The employment status of 2002-2009 graduates takes front rank in the top 47 universities of Liaoning province.

SJZU is entitled to confer Master’s Degrees in 30 programs and a Doctoral Degree in 14 programs. She also has 6 provincial major subjects and 8 provincial key laboratories. Undergraduate Education consists of 5 sciences and 33 subjects. Among them, 7 subjects are nationally approved and subjects of Civil Engineering & Architecture have both passed the evaluation of Education Ministry. The university was approved as an experimental school to cultivate excellent athletes of snow skiing, gymnastics in 2002. Shenyang Jianzhu University has set up sister relationships with more than 54 universities in 30 countries around the world. In this way, Shenyang Jianzhu University has strengthened its connection with the foreign universities worldwide.

Qualification

1.Applicants should be between 18-30 years old. 
2.Applicants should possess academic credentials equivalent to those of university bachelor degree standards.
3.Applicants should be In good health condition, in accordance with the Health Standard for International Students stipulated by the Ministry of Education, China. 
4.Applicants should have good moral character and discipline towards the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the university.

2.High school diploma and transcript. Applicants that have not graduated should provide a study certificate/pre-graduation certificate.

3.English or Chinese Language proficiency certificate

4.Employment certificate or non-criminal record required from those graduated over 12 months.

6.Two letters of recommendation from the applicant’s university or institution.
